Since 1998 the Canadian Government designated the last Sunday
of September as the Police and Peace Officers' Memorial Day.
In Ottawa there is the National Memorial while most Provinces
have thier own. In 2009 Vancouver Police hosted the BC Police
and Peace Officers' Memorial Day. It was held in Brockton
Oval at Stanley Park. There were approximately 1000 uniform
officers on parade from RCMP and Vancouver Police, Canadian
and Provincal Corrections, CBSA and US officers.
